The importance of preaching Islam
It was the duty of all the Prophets and Messengers to enjoin good deeds, forbid evil deeds, preach the religion, preach or call to the path of Allah. All the Prophets have enjoined Tawheed and Ibadah on his Ummah. Prohibited from shirk, kufr and sinful deeds. Regarding the procedure of this da'wah, Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Invoke your Lord with wisdom and good advice, and discuss with them in the best manner.” (Suraht an-Nahl: 125)
The importance of preaching Islam |
It has been repeatedly stated in the Qur'an that preaching the religion is the sole responsibility of the Prophets. It's been said, "The duty of the messengers is only to preach clearly." (Surah Nahl: 35)
In the words of Prophet Noah (peace be upon him) it is said in the Holy Qur'an, "I am conveying to you the message of my Lord and I am advising you." (Surah al-A'raf: 62)
This great responsibility of Da'wah is one of the best characteristics of the Ummah. ‘And let there be a party among you who call to goodness, enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. And they are the successful. '(Surah Al' Imran: 104) Elsewhere, Allah the Almighty said, 'You are the best nation, you have appeared for the benefit of mankind. You shall enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, and believe in Allah. '(Surah Al' Imran: 110)
The true believer does not stop at just worshiping Allah, he continues to invite people to the path of God. Describing the characteristics of a true believer, Allah said, ‘They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. And they are quick to do good deeds. These are the righteous. '(Surah Al' Imran: 114)
In another verse Allah said, ‘And believer men and believer women are friends of one another, they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. They say their prayer and pay the poor and obey Allah and His Apostle. Allah will have mercy on them, surely Allah is Mighty, Wise. '(Tawba: 61)
The Holy Qur'an declares the believers to be the best people who carry out the duty of da'wah and preaching. Allah the Almighty says, "Who is better in speech than he who invites people to Allah, does good deeds and says, 'I am one of the Muslims.'" (Surah Ha-Mim Assijda: 33)
One of the rewards of carrying out the duty of da'wah and preaching is to be saved from worldly wrath. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) explained it through a beautiful example. He said, "The example of a person who is trying to preserve the rules of Allah and who is violating them is like a group of people." They chartered a ship at sea. Through lottery, some of them got into the upper part of the ship and others got into the lower part of the ship. Those who are at the bottom have to come up for water. This was causing difficulty to the people above. Seeing this, the people above said, "We will not let you to come above and cause difficulty." Then the people below said, we will make a hole in our part or under the ship, then we will be able to take water easily and the people above will not have to suffer. In this case, if the people at the top prevent and forbid the people at the bottom, then they will all survive. And if they give them a chance to do that, they will all drown. '(Bukhari, Tirmidhi)
