What is the dress code in Islam | Dress according to Islam, Sunnah and Prophet Muhammad (saw)

It is sunnah to always start from the right side while wearing clothes and to start from the left side when taking off. (Tirmidhi: 1/306) Even if the clothes are old, you should always wear holy and clean clothes. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘Whoever has the least pride in his heart will not enter Paradise’.

The Sunnah should be followed in all aspects of life. That is the only way to reach God. Allah Himself has declared: ‘O Prophet! Say, "If you want to love God, then follow me, and God will love you and forgive you your sins." Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful. '(Surah Ale Imran, verse 31). From eating and sleeping to wearing clothes, it is mandatory to follow The Prophet. Today's discussion is about this.

Sunnah of clothing

It is better to wear the kind of clothes that are available when you can afford them. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not keep extra clothes and he was not attracted to more elite clothes. He used to wear whatever kind of clothes were available. (Jadul Ma'ad: 1/53). Most of the time, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to wear a sheet and another seamless garment. (Shamail Tirmidhi: 6) Many times the clothes of the Prophet (peace be upon him) were sealed with extra clothes to mend the torn part of the original cloth. (Madarejun Nabuat) It is sunnah to start with the right side at all times while wearing clothes and to start with the left side when taking off. (Tirmidhi: 1/306) Even if the clothes are old, you should always wear holy and clean clothes. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, 'Whoever has the least arrogance in his heart will not enter Paradise.' The one said, "People tend to like to wear beautiful clothes and shoes". The Prophet then says, "Allah is beautiful and He likes the beautiful. Pride is the reluctance to accept the truth and to despise people. '(Muslim: H. 147) It is Sunnat to have a shirt that is long and round below the knee. (Mishkat Sharif: H. 374) Lungi or pajamas cannot be worn below the ankles. (Mishkat Sharif: H. 374)

It is advisable not to wear clothes that cause arrogance. (Alamgiri: 5/333)

It is better to wear pajamas. It plays an important role in covering the body properly. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) once bought a pair of pajamas. But there is disagreement over whether he wore it or not. However, the Companions used to wear pajamas with the permission of the Holy Prophet (SAW). (Alamgiri: 5/333)

If possible, it is Sunnah to put on new clothes on Friday (Jummah), at least good clothes. (Ibn Majah)

While wearing new clothes, recite this prayer, ‘Alhamdu lillahillaji kasani ma wari bihi aurti wa atajammalu bihi fi hayati. (Shamail-e-Tirmidhi:5)

Dua when wearing clothes

It is sunnah to wear a hat that fits the head. It is also sunnah for the color of the hat to be white. (Fatwa Alamgiri: 5/330)

It is also Sunnah to wear a turban. It is better to keep the turban tied all the time. The turban should be white or black. (Muslim: 1/439) The turban can be up to three cubits, seven cubits, 12 cubits long. (Faizul Bari: 4/375)

All clothing should be loose. The garments which show the structure of the body can not be considered as Sunnah even if The Prophet used to wear them. (Aapke Masael: 6/175).

It is sunnah to use the right foot first when wearing shoes and socks and the left foot when taking them off. (Mishkat: 360)
